My sister is ENGAGED!!

My big sister, Meredith just got engaged last night! Well, technically they were engaged a while ago and are well on their way to planning the wedding. It was a sudden engagement and wedding seeing as I only got married less than a month ago, but we are all so excited for her! We love her fiance, he is an amazing and sweet guy and they are a perfect match. The wedding will take place in Austin where they live on January 2nd at The Mansion on Judges' Hill. It is a beautiful location! She got her ring last night because it had to be custom made and it is gorgeous! I can't wait to see it tonight when she comes in town for her bridal shower tomorrow. So much to do, so little time! Congratulations Meredith and Randall! We love you!!
Me and Mer and Mer's gorgeous bling!

Thanksgiving 2008!!

So this year was the first year that Chad went to Thanksgiving with me in Tyler. My moms side of the family gets together there every thanksgiving and we usually only see that side of the family once a year. Although several of them did come to my wedding which was so sweet of them! But alot of them were meeting Chad for the first time. Chad and my cousin Matt really hit it off talking about hunting and all other boy stuff. We had a really good time visiting with family and eating lots of yummy food!!

This was from the year before, we didn't end up
taking a group picture this year

Life as a Newlywed

Our wedding pictures were finally posted Tuesday and they turned out pretty good overall, you can check them out at www.nolanconley.com/events and then just click on hastings-pokorny! I am so excited to pick out our favs and make an album that we can keep forever. This weekend Chad left me all on my own to go hunting for the first time this year. I guess this is a little taste of my new life as the wife of a hunter/fisherman. He did kill a pretty big buck though so that made him super happy. This morning I went to church solo and took a shoebox filled with toys for a little boy that they are sending around the world for Christmas for kids in 3rd world countries. I wrote them a little note and enclosed our address and a picture of me and Chad so hopefully we will get to hear from our little kid who got our present. I love my hubby so much, he promised to take me to see Twilight tonight since he left me for hunting this weekend. I just finished the book last night and it really kept my attention. I think I'll read the whole series and I hope the movie is good! I am so excited for Thanksgiving Thursday!! Chad and I are headed to Tyler to spend it with my fam. He has never come with me before so that will be fun. I will try to post some pics of us after Thanksgiving. I put in my 2 weeks notice at work this week b/c me and Chad are headed back to the Houston area when he graduates in December. We are so excited to be able to be close to friends and family again soon!!

Our First Week of Marriage

Well, it's been 1 week since Chad and I were married and I must say, so far married life is treating us very well!! We are settled into our apartment together, which is not looking exactly as I would want because we both have so much crap! Our lease is up in January though, so after we move into a new place, we are going to break out all our wedding gifts and use them to make our house beautiful!! I can't wait until we have some nice furniture and I can really make our place look nice. We didn't get any of our bedding yet, so that might be a possible christmas present. I'm really excited that we get to spend the holiday season this year as a married couple. It's going to be so fun starting our new traditions and spending time with our families together.

Last night, me and Chad went to see 007 Quantum of Solace which was great, by the way. The first ever James Bond movie we saw was Casino Royale and we loved it! Chad and I had just started dating when it came out, so it was neat to go see the sequel together now that we're married!

Wedding Pictures

Our ceremony, which I cried the entire time haha

Andi, me and her little sister Robyn who was in
5th grade when we met!! Now she is 18 and
drop dead gorgeous! Man, we're getting OLD
Chad and I with our longtime friend Andi
who actually introduced us 7 years ago!
Now she is married herself and expecting
her first baby in June! We couldn't
be happier for them both.

Our first dance as husband and wife.
We danced to our song, "I'll Still Be Loving You"
By Restless Heart

Chad's hilarious groom's cake
he wanted it to be a deer head at first,
but they were all not very cute.
The fish fits him just as well, though.
He is the ultimate boy!

Our wedding cake, I was so in love with it! It turned out perfect.

Officially Mr. and Mrs.

On November 7th, 2008 Chad and I were hitched!! We are very happy, being married is wonderful! Our wedding was absolutely amazing and everything we dreamed it would be. Everyone kept coming up to us and saying what a fun time they were having. We got so many compliments on everything from the food to the D.J. During the ceremony I had a lot of trouble keeping my composure! I did not think I would get that emotional, but it snuck up on me anyway :) Everyone was dancing until the end and we left as our guests threw rose petals at us. All the hard work and months of planning paid off. I will be sure to post more pictures soon!
