Father's Day Weekend

Last weekend Chad and I made a trip to Austin yet again for Father's Day. We rode up there with my parents and we all stayed with Mer and Randall. We met up with my Grandad and his friend Mary for lunch and had a great visit. We had lots of fun and we're so glad we got to see everyone so much this month!

Weekend in Austin

Last Friday night I picked Chad up at the airport and we were SOO excited to see eachother! It was so good to see him and to have him home. I still get excited every day to hang out at night, I can't believe he is back! It really doesn't feel like home without him here. Then, bright and early on Saturday morning we got up and drove to Austin to visit Mer, Randall, Evan and of course Charlotte! My parents were still there but my Dad rode back with us to Spring on Sunday and my mom stayed until this afternoon. We had such a good time hanging out with them. It was a super layed-back weekend. I held Charlotte as much as I could and Mer and Randall are adjusting fabulously! Our little Charlotte is the best baby in the world. She only cries when she is hungry and already sleeps through the night! She only wakes up once to eat and then sleeps in! They gave her her first bath while we were there and she wasn't a fan. She loves to be burrito wrapped a.k.a. swaddled and she is the most precious baby in the world. We had a blast and I can't wait to see her again!

Introducing Charlotte Grace Owen!!!

Miss Charlotte Grace Owen was born today at 1:02 p.m. She weighed 7lbs exactly and is 19 1/2 inches long. She has blonde hair and blue eyes and is absolutely the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!! Meredith went into the hospital last night and was induced early this morning. She had a quick labor and was such a trooper! She did an amazing job and I am so proud of her! I drove up last night and just had today to (hopefully) see her be born. I am so lucky and thankful I got to see this precious girl on the day she was born. I left Austin at 4 and was home by 6:30. Chad kept texting me to see how Mer and Charlotte were doing and I'm so sad he had to miss the birth of his niece. He will be home Friday night and we'll drive up on Saturday morning to spend time with the happy family. Congratulations Meredith, Randall and big brother Evan!! And happy birthday, Charlotte we love you to pieces!

Baby Preston Shoffit has arrived!

On June 1, 2009 our dear friends Andi and Adam welcomed their first baby! His name is Preston Wayne Shoffit and he weighed 5 lbs. 14 oz and was 20 in. long. Andi and I were bestfriends through high school and she introduced Chad and I. They now live in Oklahoma but we try to keep in touch. Andi was induced Sunday night and Monday morning I called to see if the baby had been born yet. She was still in labor through all of Monday but her husband Adam kept me updated through the whole day! Each centimeter she dialated he sent me a text and then one when she started pushing! I wish we could visit them in the hospital but we are going to make a trip up to see the happy family soon. We love you guys and we are so happy you have a new baby boy to love! Congratulations!!

12 Day Separation

Chad left on Sunday for Binghamton, NY to train for his new title at Malin as a core sales representative. Chad works for the same company his dad has worked for over 10 years. It is an amazing company and they treat their employees so well. We are so blessed to both have jobs we love. Unfortunately, with his new position, he has to go to training in New York twice this summer. First, from June 1-12 and then again in August for another 13 days. Being apart sucks, but I know it is good for him and he will learn so much. Chad has never been to New York before so he is planning on going into the city while he is there at some point. He says it is so beautiful there and that he is learning a lot and met some nice guys. I am a perpetual worrier so I hate when he is flying and gone for a long time. I know God will keep him safe for me though and he will be back before I know it!

In other news, we found out last week that Mer is getting induced on June 10th - a week early!! We are soo excited but that means Chad will miss the birth of his niece :( I plan on heading up to Austin with my parents Tuesday night and coming home Wed. after Charlotte is born. Then I will pick Chad up at the airport on Friday and we will head to Austin together for the weekend so he can meet his niece! Can't wait!! Only one week to go baby Charlotte!
