24 Weeks!

Today I am 24 weeks and feeling great, except for the occasional back pain and insomnia. I am pretty tired today since last night I woke up at about 3:30 and couldn't seem to go back to sleep for about an hour or so. Today we have our Doctor's appointment at 3:00, no ultrasound this time though. I also scheduled our maternity pictures. A friend of a friend is doing them, her name is Cortney Russell and I love her photography! Click here to view her web page. We're doing them on March 27th. I have a feeling March through June will be going by super fast! As much as I want spring to be here, the chance of snow today reminds me that we have a few more weeks to go. But Graham is getting bigger everyday and his kicks are getting stronger too! I still am loving feeling him move, it makes me feel so connected to him. Hopefully today we will schedule our 3-D ultrasound and get a sneak peek at our little guy! Stay warm everyone!!

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Graham's Baby Bedding

After all day going to stores including Baby's 1st furniture in Houston, we ended up ordering this bedding online tonight. I have been wanting something classic, a little sophisticated but still sweet enough for a baby. I am not really a fan of the bedding with animals or themes on them. We found the 4 piece set online for 160-ish. It should arrive in a few days, so I am super excited to see what it looks like in person since I couldn't find any swatches to order. It's called "Park Avenue Baby" by Lambs and Ivy. Hopefully it's as cute as I think it will be! The swatches for the bedding I had posted earlier came in but weren't really the colors I thought they would be, and since this bedding was so much cheaper, and delivers so much faster we gave it a shot. We move into our new apartment March 31st and I can't wait!!

My Valentine

Since we started dating, we've always had pretty low key Valentine's Days. We've always just cooked at home and stayed in. Restaurants are always so crowded on Valentine's Day (although next year, we may get Grandma and Grandpa to babysit while we have a night on the town ;) ) We started off the day by going to church and to our new Life Group Class. After church, when we walked outside, it was so pretty! The sun hasn't been out in several days and the weather was so warm, we decided to pack up a lunch and take it to Burroughs Park and have a picnic. It was so nice and relaxing and the weather was perfect. We ate lunch and laid on our blanket by the water and had fun people watching and relaxing. We don't have any pictures though, because our new camera was dead, so we took our old one and it died after one picture that didn't turn out good. Around 3, we headed home and ended up taking a nap on the couch together, then we made a yummy dinner of steak, red potatoes, steamed broccoli, and pasta. Chad got me a beautiful bouquet of roses on Saturday along with a sweet card and chocolate covered strawberries. We made dinner a little extra special by using our fine china (for the first time!) and drank juice out of our fancy wine glasses. We just hung out together the rest of the night, made brownies for dessert and it was a great night. Crazy to think this is the last Valentine's Day as just the two of us.

The flowers and cards we got eachother. Chad also got me a picture frame (it was a free gift with purchase, haha)

Our little Valentine dinner
Our other little Valentine... you can't really tell in this picture, but I definitely have the linea nigra, it goes up past my belly button too. My belly button is getting flatter by the day also. No stretch marks though. Chad got to feel baby Graham kick a lot last night, he had only felt him a few times so far, and last night he finally got to feel him a bunch.

22 Weeks

Guess what? At 22 weeks pregnant, your baby has finally broken the one-pound mark. How heavy is that? Hold a one-pound box of sugar in your hand the next time you're in the grocery story (and expect people to ask you why you're grinning from ear to ear). Is the box eight inches long? That's about the length your baby is too!

This week, your sweetie is making more sense of the world as he or she develops the sense of touch. In fact, your little one's grip is quite developed by now — and since there's nothing else to grab in utero, he or she may sometimes hold on tight to that umbilical cord (don't worry — it's tough enough to handle it). The sense of sight is also getting more developed. Your fetus can now perceive light and dark much better than before (even with those fused eyelids). But remember — unless you're shining a flashlight over your belly (which you can do, by the way), it'll be mostly dark for your baby inside that cozy womb of yours.
Moving up from the eyes, the eyelashes and eyebrows are well formed now — and even more hair is sprouting atop that cute little head. You'd be quite surprised, though, if you could see your little one up close and in color. Hair at this stage of fetal development has no pigment, so it's bright white.

Spoiled Baby

Since we found out we are having a baby boy, we have gotten so many cute clothes from our sweet family and friends. We don't move into our bigger apartment for another month or so, and I am getting very anxious to start decorating baby Graham's nursery. Here are some of the adorable items we have received so far:

All of these were from Grandma and Pepaw (Chad's parents) Chad's Dad is already talking about taking the credit card away from Chad's mom ;)
Robe and hooded towel from Maw and Grandad (Chad's Grandparents)
Adorable rain boots again from Grandma and Pepaw
Jaclyn, Damon and Madden gave Graham Christmas jammies for next year
Chad's coworker picked this up on a trip to Canada
Aunt Kirby gave us this sweet outfit and horse rattle on Sunday

I can't believe in just a few months there will actually be a baby to dress in these! I am loving Janie and Jack and Baby Gap too, they have the cutest clothes for baby boys. I am dying to get him this hat
from Baby Gap
Adorable, right?? Oh my goodness, having a boy will be so fun!

Baby Bedding

I found this bedding online the other day, Chad and I both really like it. I'm not sure what kind of a theme I would do with it, maybe a sailing/beach theme or old-timey cars/trains/planes theme. I will have to get my talented interior-designer sister to help me ;) I love the colors, they are so soothing, which is great for a newborn! What do you think?
