Tummy Time

I took these pictures the other day when Graham was doing "tummy time" for the first time. Is it just me, or is this the cutest baby in the world?!

Father's Day Weekend

This post is a little late, but we had a wonderful Father's Day weekend and I think Chad had great first Father's Day. We started the weekend off right by surprising Chad with a pair of Sperry's that he has been wanting for forever. Then, Saturday morning, Graham and me presented Chad with another gift... a camo diaper bag. We also got him two cards, one from me and one from Graham :) I can't say enough what a wonderful father Chad is. He has been so amazing not only since Graham was born but throughout my whole pregnancy. He didn't miss one doctor's appointment. He was always so supportive of me and had to carry the load of being the sole breadwinner when I had to quit my job due to complications from the pregnancy. He was amazing through the delivery and hospital stay and taking care of me after the baby was born. And now that Graham is here he is the proudest Daddy in the world. It melts my heart to see my two boys together. And Graham is already a daddy's boy. It is so precious. We love you, Chad!!! Thank you for being such an amazing husband and Daddy. We are so glad you are ours.

For Father's Day we hung out at my parents and Chad's parents, then me and Chad went out for mexican while my parents watched Graham. It was so hard leaving him but we had a nice date night :) Thanks mom and dad!!

4 weeks tomorrow!

Wow, I cannot believe tomorrow our baby will be 4 weeks old, that just doesn't seem possible. These past 4 weeks have been a mixture of amazing, exhausting, exciting and scary. It is crazy how much this little man has mixed up our world. We are adjusting though and we can't imagine life without him. I literally can't believe there was a time when he wasn't in our lives. He has amazed us more every day.

Last week, at our doctor appointment Graham weighed in at 8 lbs., and the doctor was happy. The next time we'll go back will be for his 2 month check-up.

Mr. Graham has been a traveling boy lately, going lots of places with Mommy during the week. Last week we visited his Grandma and met her for lunch then showed him off at her work. We also met a friend of mine and her baby who was born 2 days before Graham for coffee and lunch and then today we went to the movies with them. They did amazingly well in the movie, we were super impressed! I have been taking him everywhere with me.

Yesterday was my first attempt at taking him grocery shopping with me solo. He did great, slept the whole time! Yesterday when we went to baby Gap, he had a bit of a meltdown and we had to book it home, he was hungry and wanted to eat pronto. But other than that, he is an angel baby at most places. We've taken him to restaurants a few times and he does great, just sleeps in his carrier the whole time. On Sunday, we took him to a restaurant and we had to leave early and get the rest of my food to go b/c he was hungry but other than that he's been perfect. We're really lucky.

I can't wait for his first 4th of July this weekend! I hope it doesn't rain b/c we have 2 pool parties we are attending and then we're watching fireworks of course. I am also glad that Chad will have a 3 day weekend, and we get to spend lots of time with him. It's so nice having Chad home on the weekends to help out. He is a big help in the evenings too. He changes diapers, gets me anything I need so I don't have to get up while I'm nursing, and holds and loves on Graham lots. He is such a good Daddy. Not to mention an awesome swaddler :)

Graham has still been doing fairly good at night, although sometimes he wakes up between feedings with a gas bubble or dirty diaper. We have been putting him to bed around 10 now, because the other night when we did he slept until 2 am and then again until 6 am. We can't wait for the day when he sleeps a full 8 hours straight!

Graham at church for the first time on Sunday... did great!

Graham's 2 Week Check-Up

I have been out of the blogging world these past 2 weeks adjusting to our new life with our sweet new baby. We are doing great, although we did hit a few rough patches. I got mastitis in both of my breasts, but went to the doctor last Monday and he gave me a big shot which helped me feel sooo much better. We layed low last week because we had so many of our loving family and friends come visit us the first week home, and since I was recovering from being sick and childbirth, needed to take it easy. I am finally off of my antibiotics and pain medicine and I am feeling good. Graham is doing great too.
At his 1 week check up here were his stats:
Weight: 7lbs., 1.9 oz.

Height: 19 1/4 inches

At 2 weeks:
Weight 7lbs, 7oz. still not back to birth weight
Height: 20 1/4
He was in the 25th percentile for everything else including height and weight.

We go back this Thursday just for a weigh. Hopefully he has gained his birth weight back and then some. He is fill
ing out his clothes more, so I think he is doing good, and he has no shortage of pee and poop diapers.

We have fallen head over heels for our little guy. Here are some of the cute and funny things he does:

- Loves to be nursed
- Loves riding in the car
- Folds his little hands together like he's praying
-When he is hungry his cries have an "N" sound at the beginning
-Loves to be swaddled at night and wakes up if his hands get out
- Doesn't suck his thumb but sucks his two middle fingers
-Cries when he gets his diaper chang
-Cries when he gets a bath except when he gets his hair washed under the faucet
-Is a super laid-back baby, everyone is always telling us how lucky we are
- Loves his swing and vibrating seat
-Already smiles and makes laughing noises on occasion!
-Already trying to hold his head up--he's really strong!
-LOVES his Daddy and when his daddy talks to him and holds him
-Sleeps 3-4 hours at night between feedings
-Nurses about every 2 hours dur
ing the day

Here is Graham this weekend at my parents house just hanging out while Mommy read a magazine...

First Night on Our Own!

Last night Chad and I spent our first night alone with the baby. We had planned to have someone stay with us for the first week, but the past two nights he has been so good only waking up to eat, and no one can really help since I'm nursing. So, we decided to see how it went last night with just us, and it went really well! Still waking up about every 2 hours to eat, and pretty much going right back to sleep. It's tough getting used to not sleeping but I miss him when I'm not holding him anyway so it's not that bad.

Graham's First Bath

Last night we decided to give Graham his first bath. Mimi and Daddy- Glenn were there to take pictures and video of the ordeal. It went pretty good, except near the end Graham decided to give his Momma and Daddy a golden shower of their own, ha!

Going Home!!

Saturday afternoon we were released from the hospital. Chad's parents met us at the hospital to help us get home since we had so much stuff with us. We were glad to get home, but it was nice to have professionals always around whenever we had a question! On the way home, Chad's parents said they'd never seen Chad drive so slow, ha!

His parents stayed for awhile and we took a nap while Chad's mom helped do some laundry and dishes and organize the apartment a little since I was on bedrest Wednesday and couldn't get anything done before we left for the hospital.

After our nap, we took Graham over to my parents to say hi since it was Charlotte's first birthday party that day. We missed most of the party, but they saved some presents for Charlotte to open so we could see. The party looked absolutely adorable, and we were sad we missed it.

Mer volunteered to spend then night with us, and she was a humongous help. Mr. Graham had a little bit of a rough night but has done pretty good the past two nights. Chad's mom spent the night on Sunday night and my mom stayed last night. They haven't really had to help us out at night though. Graham has been waking up about every 2 hours to nurse and then falls asleep while nursing. He only cries when his diaper is wet or dirty and when he is hungry. Usually we can calm him down pretty quick too. He is such a good baby!!

Chad is an amazing daddy too. He has helped me with everything. He keeps track of Graham's feedings, diaper changes and my pain medicine. We had an aweosme marriage before but having a baby together has brought us so much closer on such a new level. It is really amazing. He keeps saying how he didn't know he could love me more than he did but going through this has made him love me in a whole new way. We have both been pretty emotional the past few days. I am so incredibly fortunate to have married him, and I could not have picked a better father for my baby. Life will never be the same in the best way possible....
