2nd Doctor's Appointment for Little Baby P #2!!

I can't believe I'm just now posting this! A couple of weeks ago, we had our 2nd ultrasound for our new addition! We were so thankful that we were able to hear the little heartbeat! There is no sound more amazing than hearing your baby's heartbeat for the first time. It was beating a strong 154 beats per minute and the baby was measuring 7 weeks and 3 days. My due date is officially March 26, 2012!!! I am going to be doing a weekley pregnancy update every Monday, since that marks the beginning of my new week. I'm just doing one today though, so I don't miss any more weeks!

How Far Along: 9 weeks, 2 days

Size of baby: A medium green olive

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Down a couple of pounds from lack of appeite, but I'm sure that will change soon!
Maternity Clothes: No maternity clothes yet, but sleeping in a sports bra has become a necessity.

Gender: Chad and I both have a feeling baby P is a girl, we will know in 7 weeks!!

Movement: No movement yet, but baby is making movements already :)

Sleep: Ready to go to bed earlier, and waking up in the very early morning to pee ( I guess that's why they call it "the wee hours of the morning"! Haha)

What I miss: an occasional glass of wine, my morning coffee, and eating lunchmeat without having to warm it up to kill possible listeria, tea and coffe with sweet n' low

Cravings: fruit of every variety, strawberry & banana smoothies, cheetos, claussen dill pickles (spears only), mashed potatoes, &  random cravings for a specific type of food, then not wanting it at all after I eat it.

Symptoms: frequent peeing, sore boobs, gagging when I brush my teeth, food aversions.

Best Moment this week: fitting into some shorts I hadn't worn since before I got pregnant with Graham

Best comment of the week: "You're glowing!" Defintely one of my favorite pregnancy compliments :)

What I'm looking forward to: setting up our gender ultrsound and getting ready for the gender reveal party.

Milestones: Although the baby is still very small, it is beginning to look more like a human being. Baby's back is straightening out and the tail is shrinking. In proportion to the rest of his/her body, the head is large and remains curved forwards onto the chest. The head is erect and the neck is developing well. Even though the eyes are well developed, they are covered by a membrane lid. The eyes will not begin to open and close for quite some time still. Your baby will begin to make tiny fetal movements as the muscles start to develop.

Here is a baby at 9 weeks gestation:

Sorry, readers! I have been on a little "blog-cation" these past few weeks! Between me having morning sickness-make that all day sickness- and this miserable HEAT WAVE THAT WON'T END, we have not been too exciting over here. And, when we have done something I have managed to forget my camera, or been too lazy to take any pictures. So, I'll just try to sum up the past couple of weeks.

First of all, Graham still has a cough, and since he hasn't had fever or worsening symptoms, I am thinking it could be related to teething, but who knows. He has been sleeping much much better, thank the Lord. Last weekend we spent the day running around to Sherwin Williams, Lowes & Home Depot. We bought some paint samples to paint the art niche by our master bedroom. I really love the color! We just need to get Chad's dad over to help with the edges since it is curvy and a little hard to do, and he is a master edger when it comes to painting. We also bought a new light fixture to go over the kitchen table, but when Chad hung it up, it just didn't look right. So, we took it down and returned it and bought one from overstock for around the same price that we both like so much better. It should be in in a few days!

The weekend before that, my sister and her family came into town and we spent time with them, and Monday night my sister and I went to see The Help. We both had read the book, and we loved the movie even though there were several parts that were left out or changed. Oh well, it was still fun and we can't wait for Breaking Dawn to come out in November! My mom was supposed to go with us, but she has been having all kinds of back problems from some slipped discs. She is doing much better now, but was in a lot of pain. She goes to get an MRI tomorrow, so please say some prayers for her that she won't have to have surgery and it can correct itself. We are all anxious to get her back to normal and so is she!! We also celebrated Chad's Grandad's 75th birthday last week, which was so fun. I forgot my camera, but took some cute one's with their camera. Graham was loving him some birthday cake! Here are some pictures of him in his rainboots, now all we need is some rain!!!!

Shopping at lowe's with Mommy and Daddy... and OH MY GOSH I just saw myself in the background, I totally look pregnant... EEK!!!

Weekly Recap

Last Wednesday, we invited Chad's Gamme over to visit and eat burgers with us. We had been trying to get together with her for awhile, and either Graham got sick, she got sick or our schedules just weren't matching up, so we were glad to finally get to spend some time with her. We had a great time visiting, eating, and seeing her play with Graham. Even though she's Graham's Great Grandmother, she is still so fun and young that she gets down on the floor with him and plays and tickles him. We love spending time with Gamme, she is such a neat person and we love talking with her about her childhood growing up in Kerrville and all the family history. She has so many great stories. The baby I'm pregnant with will be great grandbaby # 14 for her!! Crazy!!!

Friday night, we decided to have a little mini-getaway and stay at a hotel for the night downtown. We liked the hotel a lot, we had a really nice room with a view and since we got there so late, just ate at the italian restaurant in the hotel. The food was really good, and I was craving italian food. After dinner, we just relaxed and watched Something Borrowed on the TV. The next morning we discovered renting a movie costs $16.99!!!!!!! Pretty much the same price as going to the theatre!!!! Oh well, we had a yummy breakfast then checked out and walked around the Galleria a bit and window shopped before heading home. It was nice to get to sleep in and all night long without waking up to a crying baby. Graham has been having some issues with seperation anxiety, so we haven't been getting much rest. It seems to be getting better now though, so I am thankful!!!

Saturday night, we met our friends Kelley and Jared for dinner at The Red Onion to celebrate Kelley's birthday. Graham started getting a cough the night before, so we kept the other babies on the other side of the table from him. Right before we got our food, poor Graham coughed so hard he threw up! I think it was a combo of coughing and that he drank some water too fast. Poor baby :( He is getting better though and hasn't had fever, but we are keeping an eye on him.

Graham has been doing so many new things lately, it is blowing my mind!!

-He now repeats everything you say

-If you ask him what a dog says he responds "woof woof" in the cutest little voice ever

-Grandma taught him to point to his eye when you say eye!

-If you ask him to bring you any book or toy, he will bring you exactly what you're talking about

-He is eating real food only now (chicken nuggets, fresh veggies and fruits he can easily chew) pretty much anything we eat but cut up small.

-He is running everywhere and now sometimes spins around and around, so cute

-He is terrified of his little tikes swing, and we have no idea why!

-I think he might be starting to cut out his morning nap and just take a long afternoon nap

In pregnancy news, I have been feeling pretty nauseas the past several days, even nearly throwing up a few times. Nothing sounds good to eat, and then I'll get a random craving. Once I eat my craving though, it won't sound good at all anymore. I picked up chick-fil-a today on our way to a friends house, and the cheese on my sandwich totally grossed me out, so I had to stop eating it, even though all day that's the only thing I could even think about stomaching. Anything we have at our house (except fruit) grosses me out. I almost threw up just opening the pantry to get Graham's breakfast yesterday morning.  Thursday we go in for an ultrasound, so we'll see how far along I am then and start the weekley belly bump pictures. I really want to keep up with it this time. I wish I had started them earlier b/c I am already feeling fat!

My boys in their shades :)

Updates All Around

This week has been kind of a rough one, well at least from the hours of 7:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. Our great sleeper has been waking up the past week and a half multiple times, and it's killing us!! At first, I thought it was an ear infection, so off we went to the pediatrician. No ear infection, but the doctor chalked it up to a one year molar coming in. Well, after several more sleepless nights, I have figured out it's seperation anxiety. He cries and cries and clings to us, and just wants to be in our room. Well, the past few nights we have been letting him cry for awhile, then going into his room, patting him and soothing him, but not picking him up unless he needs a new diaper. (I hope I don't jinx us), but it seems to be paying off. He went down tonight without crying at all, and so far so good. We will see. Last night he woke up twice, put himself back to sleep once and then the 2nd time, I changed him and he went back to sleep after a little fussing. I really hope we are turing a corner, because the first trimester fatigue on top of no sleep is complete torture!!

Speaking of baby #2, I am about 6 1/2 weeks along and feeling pretty good! I didn't really get sick with Graham, and that seems to be the case with this pregnancy so far. My only pregnancy symptoms are a little nausea when I first wake up, and just feeling like not much sounds good to eat, gagging when I brush my teeth and feeling like I got implants over night! I got some blood work done on Monday and last Thursday, and my hormone levels look great. It seems I ovulate really late in my cycle, so it makes it hard to date my pregnancies at first, which is why I got an ultrasound and blood work done, just to make sure all is well. I go back for another ultrasound in a week, and I should be about 7 weeks along. I should get a more accurate due date then. I am really excited to be pregnant again, and we are looking forward to preparing for life with a new sweet baby!!
