Claire: 12 Months

On March 19, 2012 at 11:44 am, a perfect 7 pound, 10 ounce baby girl came into our lives.

Well, sweet girl... here we are!!! We made it through your first year!!! I can't belive it was a year ago that we were going to the hospital to have you, it really seems like just a few months ago. I am so sad that this year of total baby-hood is over, but I'm so excited to see how you will grow and change in the year to come!

You have accomplished so much this year, and even in this past month! You took your first several steps from your brother's chair to his nightlight on the wall, and now you are walking more and more everyday. You have also started to crawl really fast, and it's the cutest thing ever. You are also loving finger foods, and the days of baby food are numbered. You still drink 4 bottles a day, (8oz in the morning, two 6oz bottles during the day, and an 8 oz bottle at night) You are learning to drink from a sippy, but I've only given you one a couple of times.

You are sleeping well now, too! You sleep from 8pm until about 4:30 when you wake up and we bring you into our room until 7-7:30. You've been taking a morning nap from 10-11:30, then an afternoon nap around 1:30 until around 3.

You love to play with your brother, you love being held, playing peek-a-boo, clapping, watching Praise Baby, and being busy, busy, busy! You have also just discovered climbing!! Uh-oh...

We love you so much, sweet girl, and we can't wait to celebrate this weekend!!!! First, a little trip down memory lane...

Happy First Birthday, Baby Claire!!!!
We love you!!!!

Happy First Birthday, Baby!

Sweet baby girl,

Tomorrow you are turning one, and I can hardly believe how fast this year has flown by. Last year, at this time, I was trying so hard to picture who you would be, what you would look like, and how you would fit into our family. My darling girl, you have far surpassed any expectation I could've ever had.

You came into this world so easily (and fast!) and you have been a dream ever since. I honestly don't know if there has ever been a better baby than you. You are so calm, loving, lovable and sweet. Not to mention absoulutely beautiful. You have the biggest chocolate brown eyes that could melt any heart. Every little feature you have is perfectly gorgeous. I sometimes can't believe that you are ours!

Since they first layed you in my arms, I knew how special you were. We have had a special bond right from the start, and I have treasured every moment with you from then until now. You are so smart, and funny. You have passed every milestone a little early, and have been trying to keep up with your big brother from day one! You have done an excellent job of wrapping your daddy around your little finger, and you are just adored by everyone who meets you.

I always knew I would someday have a daughter, and you are my dream come true. I have so many prayers and wishes for you, and I hope that you will always know that you have been loved beyond measure from the start.

I pray that you will love the Lord with all of your heart, because it is only in that, my sweet girl, that you will truly find happiness and fullfilment. I pray that you will never forget you are a precious creation, and that God has a wonderful plan for you. You have already brought joy to so many, and I know you will do great things in this life. Claire means "Clear and Bright", and I pray that others will see the light of the Lord shining through you.

Happy FIRST Birthday, baby Claire!!! We can't wait to see what this next year holds! We love you forever and ever.

Some Big News...

We are moving!!!

About two weeks ago, our house went up for sale. It is something we have been thinking about for about a year now, and after a lot of prayer, the time seemed right. We put our house on the market at the beginning of the month, and within the first 4 days, we had 3 separate showings! After 9 days on the market, we had a contract!! We are so thankful it sold so quickly (having to keep your house spotless for showings with two toddlers isn't easy!) But honestly, it wasn't that bad at all. We quickly started scrambling for a new house...

The weekend before our house sold, we actually almost put an offer on a house. It turned out though, that, even though we LOVED the house, it just wasn't the right location for several reasons. We let it go, and kept looking. We saw a few more homes, and didn't feel like anything was the one.

Then, our realtor sent us a house in a neighborhood we hadn't even thought of. It's actually only about 10 minutes down the road from where we are now, and as soon as we stepped inside, we had a good feeling about it. By the time we got to the kitchen, I said "I think this is it." I just had a feeling. The next day, we put in our offer. 24 agonizing hours later, they countered, we accepted and signed the papers. (This all happened on Monday.) Even though we had to wait for a long time to find out if we had gotten the house, I feel like it was all in God's plan. The whole day, I kept getting more sure that we wanted the house, and how perfect it would be for us. It made the moment we found out we got it even more exciting!

I can't tell you how much we love this house, and even though  it's 100% move-in ready, I can really see the potential and the huge impact a few minor updates will have. Some new lighting, paint, and furniture, and eventually a covered patio in the backyard will just make it our dream home. We cannot wait to move in!!! We close April 18th (the day after I turn 27), so we need to start packing ASAP! Moving with 2 toddlers will be an experience I think. ;) Here's a few pictures of our new house. (These are just a few of the main shots, I got them from the realtor site) Of course, I'll post more when we move in! I am already picturing how beautiful it will be with Christmas lights!!!

It has everything that was on our wish-list and more. First of all, it's only about a 10 minute longer commute for Chad. It's closer to our parents (they love that ;) and it's still close to our church and all our friends we've made.

It's almost 3400 SQ (!!!) with 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, a half bath, an office, dining room, large island in the kitchen, a game room, and a large backyard. Our new neighborhood is so pretty. It has large trees, 2 lakes with ducks waddling all around (within walking distance from our house) One lake is right across the street, and the lots across from us are empty for now, so we have a perfect view!! Another big bonus, our house sits on a double cul-de-sac!  We even met some neighbors who were really sweet, the wife is a stay at home mom, and one of their children is close to Graham's age. They said they have been praying for good neighbors to move in. :)  We really feel like this is where God wants us to be, and we can't wait to move in and start a new chapter in our lives!

A special thanks to my amazing husband, Chad for providing for us, always. I can't believe at 27 we will be able to afford a house this amazing, and it's all thanks to my smart, hard-working and talented husband!!! We love you, babe!!!
