Little Moments

There's something so sweet about the little everyday moments with your kids. A couple of weeks ago, Claire got all messy during lunch time, so Graham helped me give her a bath in the kitchen sink.

A few days later (the day after Claire's birthday party, I think) it was gorgeous outside, so we opened the windows. Not long after, I caught the the kids just standing in front of the dining room windows, just letting the crazy wind blow on their little faces. It was so funny, because it was cold and really windy, but they loved it!

This was on Claire's birthday. She just looked so sweet and baby-like snoozing in the carseat.

Love these sweet kiddos so much!!!!

Texas Bluebonnets

It's just not spring in Texas until the bluebonnets come out! Last year, we didn't end up taking any bluebonnet pictures, so this year I was not missing out. I googled bluebonnets nearby and found that there was a bluebonnet patch just up the road from us. I was super excited that we didn't have to drive 30 minutes or more to get a good field of bluebonnets like we usually do. It was a little warm, but the kids did great!! I am so in love with these sweet pictures, and I can't wait to frame them!!

an enchanted place where colors are brighter,
the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.

Zoo with Mimi

A couple of weeks ago, I asked my mom to join me and the kids for a day at the Houston Zoo. Graham was SO excited. He was talking about going to the zoo for days. We went on a Wednesday, and the high was 70. It was perfect weather; much more enjoyable when it's not 100 degrees. There aren't too many days left until the crazy Houston summer arrives. We picked up my mom around noon, and headed downtown. The kids slept for the 45 minute drive, so that worked out good since their naptime is at 12:30ish.

First up was the seals, Graham loved watching them swim and drink water out of the water spout. I didn't get any pictures of that, though. After watching the seals for a few, we went to the elephants.

These baby elephants were so funny. I think one was picking on the other, and the mama elephant kept pulling them apart. It looked very familiar... ;)

Claire loves animals, so this was right up her alley, too. She doesn't look super excited here, but trust me, she was.

I just love the pictures of the babies walking together.

Next up: the monkey's!

This mama monkey had a baby on her back, so cute!!!

Claire really loves drinking water out of her sippy these days.

Graham and Mimi

He loved looking at the fish, I think he was wishing we brought his pole

The lion was snoozing right up next to the glass. At least we got to see him up close.
Checking out the black bears

The Giraffe's!

I love the new giraffe exhibit they built

The carousel was the biggest hit of the day. Graham wanted to ride the lion, and he was sooo cute with a huge smile on his face the entire time.

Claire rode the lioness, of course :)

We went to the kids zoo next, Graham played on the playground, and checked out the petting zoo.

I just love this picture of my sweet boy.

He pretended to drive the little boat by the water exhibit. He was singing "Row, Row, Row Your boat" Ha ha ha

And finally, passed out from all the fun!
We were going to ride the train, but we ran out of time.
I need to do more fun outings like this with the kids during the week. They have so much fun, and everything is much less crowded, of course. Now that Claire is getting bigger I see some fun day trips in our future :)
