Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

We made our 4th annual trip to the pumpkin patch this year! I just can't go when it's 80+ degree's out, so we waited for a cool evening like we've done in the past, and it worked out perfect!!
We took pictures (getting these kids to smile at the same time is like pulling teeth)

Rode the hayride about 3 times

Claire and I took some more pictures while the boys went on the bounce houses

Then the kids picked out their pumpkins, and we headed home to eat dinner.

Fun fall night!!

First Days of School {Fall 2013}

Both of our little munchkins started "school"  in September. Graham is now going 2 days a week, (Tuesdays and Thursdays) to Preschool! Claire is going to Mother's Day Out on Thursdays. I must admit, it is really nice to get 1 day a week where I can run errands kid-free! :) Although I am more than ready to see my babies when pick-up time rolls around...

I mean, how could I not miss these two cutie pies?!

San Francisco Trip: Part 1

You know you're behind on blogging, when you're posting about something from 6 months ago....

This past year, Chad made President's Club in his company! I am so proud of my hardworking husband, and so excited that we were able to join the annual President's Club trip! This year it was held in San Francisco. We left exactly one week after we moved into our new house, so it was a little bit of a hectic and crazy time, but it was really nice to get away for a few days after all the moving. Plus, it was a pretty good motivator to get settled into our new home quick! ;)

We stayed from Thursday to Sunday and did so much in that time. Our favorites were: Muir Woods (it has been a lifelong dream for me to see the Redwood Forest!) Alcatraz (night tour), and Napa Valley! So many amazing places we were able to see!! Another huge bonus is that Chad's bestfriend also works for the same company, and he also made President's Club! Since he was single at the time,  he invited our good friend Clarissa! Clarissa is a good friend of mine and was my roommate in college for 2 years. Ryan and Riss met at our wedding and have been good friends ever since. Having her there was so fun and the 4 of us had a blast. Chad's father also works for the company, so his mom and dad were there too!!

On Friday we rented a car and drove to Muir Woods. It was a gorgeous drive, and we got to cross the Golden Gate Bridge!

It was such a scenic route, we had to stop and take a few pictures

...and get some snacks

I  loved, loved, loved the forest!
Chad and I definitely would love to go back one day.

After Muir woods, we drove down to Sausalito to have lunch!

Sausalito was gorgeous, and lunch was amazing. We ate at restaurant on the water, The Trident.  Definitely recommend!

Sausalito was so picturesque, I could've spent a lot of time there, too. But we had to get back for our Alcatraz Night Tour....

Claire: 18 Months

On September 19th Claire turned 18 months!! I can't believe in less than 6 months we will have a 2 year old on our hands! It has been a long time since I did an update on our sweet girl, so there will be a lot of info. :)

In June we weaned Claire (and Graham... I know, I know) from their paci's! Claire was not a happy girl for the first couple of days, but we ploughed through and didn't cave!! Yay for being paci-free at the Pokorny house!! :)

Claire is weighing in at a solid 25 pounds these days. The chunk on her thighs is so adorable!! I just love watching her run around with those chubby little baby legs!

She is a big-time Momma's girl. I mean really. I feel bad for Chad!! She definitely loves her daddy, don't get me wrong but if Mommy is within sight, forget it. I have to say, secretly I adore that she loves me (the feeling is mutual!) but, I wish she would giver her poor daddy a break.

Claire loves her big brother, and tries her best to keep up with him. I really don't think she realizes she is younger at all! If we are playing with friends, she will want to run with the big kids instead of playing with a baby her own age!

She is generally a good eater. She all of the sudden is loving the little baby food pouches of veggies and fruit, so I've been supplementing her meals with those so she gets more veggies into her diet. She loves PB&J just like her big brother.

She drinks about 16 oz of milk a day. We tried to wean her from her bottles, but she was not having it, so we are putting it off a little longer. She just wants a bottle before bed and first thing in the morning. She'll drink water and juice out of her sippy all day long.

Claire is now going to MDO on Thursdays! She is doing so great, and I LOVE her sweet teachers.

She naps from about 12:30/1pm to around 3:30 most days.

She loves bath time, playing with her baby dolls, being tickled (she will even tickle herself-- it is the cutest thing ever!) She'll say "tickle tickle tickle" and CRACK up, seriously adorable!!!

She runs, climbs, and is even starting to hop and jump!

She is so talkative! I think copying her brother has helped, but she is so verbal!! Here are a few of the words she says often and extremely clear:

-Mommy and Daddy
-Bubba
-Baby
-Milk-ah (she says this when referencing her sippy in general)
-Ball
-Bubbles
-Thank you (Sounds kind of sing-songy and like think-choo!)
-No (She has this one down PAT)
-I want that (her first sentence!)
-Night-night
-Bye-Bye
-Tee tee
-Shoe (she is obsessed with shoes!!!)
-Book
-Hi
She blows kisses, and actually does the smooching sound!

She is definitely keeping us on our toes, and is still such a good girl. She can be quite dramatic and strong-willed! She has started throwing the occasional tantrum, too. We love this crazy girl and couldn't live without her!!! Happy 18 months, Claire Bear!

San Antonio Trip: Part 2

Saturday we woke up early, ate breakfast in the hotel and headed to Sea World! We got passes for Sea World only and not the water park. We figured the kids would only last through one and the Sesame Street play area had a splash pad for toddlers right there in the Sea World park, which was perfect for us.

The first thing we did was go see the Shamu show and then the dolphin and beluga whale show. I was surprised at how much the kids loved it! Claire slept through most of the Shamu show, but Graham was in heaven. Watching his amazement was so fun!!They both loved the dolphin/beluga show. The acrobats were fun and they loved watching the parrots fly around.

After the shows, Chad and I took turns riding a few roller coasters. We bought the fast passes so we didn't have to wait in line, and it worked out really well. Then we grabbed lunch and took the kids to the Sesame Street play area which had a huge play area with water and splash pads and rides for the kids. We rode the carousel about 3 times and Graham got to ride a couple of the other rides, too. Then we cooled them off in the splash pad and they passed out in the stroller after that. We took turns riding a few more roller coasters and then headed back to the hotel. Such a fun day!

We finished off the night eating dinner at the Rain Forest CafĂ©  on the River walk. Mainly because we knew the kids would enjoy it and it was super close to our hotel... we were all wiped out.

The next morning, we ate breakfast, packed up our car and walked about a block to the Alamo. We just walked around and took some pictures, then headed out of town when the kids started losing it.

Such a fun little getaway! I love trips like these, it's so fun to me to make these sweet family memories.
