Thanksgiving 2013

We did something different this year for Thanksgiving! Instead of traveling to Tyler for the annual Jones Family Reunion, we hosted Thanksgiving for Chad's side of the family at our house! It was so fun to get to host my first Thanksgiving in our new home. I had so much fun picking out decorations, and planning the meal. Everyone brought a dish, so it was really easy and fun!

The kids table
(Me, Chad and the kids sat in here)

Had to document the spotless living room, it doesn't look
like that very often around here!

My mom let me borrow her silver, so that was really special!
She inherited it from my great-grandmother. It's so gorgeous!

Claire loves her some Aunt Kara!
The delicious food!

Dessert Table

I made squash casserole, green bean casserole, rolls, pumpkin crunch cake,
and picked up some turkey sugar cookies from Rao's Bakery

I'm so thankful for our wonderful family, and days like this,
where we just get to eat good food, laugh, and enjoy each other's company!

Graham's Preschool Thanksgiving Program

My sweet Little Indian! :)

He doesn't like when we watch him, so as soon as he spotted us, he refused to participate in the singing! Ha! What a stinker!

Attempting a picture, look at the face Graham is giving me! Just keeping it real ;)

This was before we left that morning for school, the best shot I got!
Love my crazy kids. :)

5th Anniversary Trip: Playa Mujeres, Mexico!

On November 12th, we got up bright and early to catch our flight to Mexico! We stayed at the beautiful all-inclusive resort Excellence. It was Chad's first time to Mexico, and it was also the resort we had planned to stay at on our honeymoon (we ended up not going on a honeymoon because we bought furniture instead...) So, this trip was long over-due! :)

We arrived early afternoon, and a private car picked us up from the airport and took us right to the resort, where they greeted us with champagne and checked us in. We grabbed lunch at the Lobster House, which sits on the water, with a view of the ocean and the pool.

Then, we went to our room to get settled. We had an ocean view, and the room was beautiful! A fully stocked mini-fridge, a gorgeous view of the ocean, an indoor/outdoor private Jacuzzi and nice balcony! Perfect!!

(This was our view from the balcony)

The food was great, we got to try every restaurant! We also met a lot of fun other couples that we ended up hanging out with a lot, so that was fun!

On our last full day we took the ferry to Isla Mujeres which had a gorgeous beach and some fun shopping. We got the kids their souvenir's and hung out at the beach.

Paradise with my hot hubby, doesn't get much better than that! ;)

When we got back from Isle Mujeres, we got a couples massage at the resort before dinner that night. Perfect last night of vacation! The next day, it was raining a bit again, so we just took some pictures of the resort before we left for the airport. The only complaints we had were the weather and the resort's beach had some seaweed. Other than that, everything was great!

We were so bummed to leave! It was an amazing trip, and we think we'll definitely go back one day... (and maybe stay for a whole week! That's ok, right grandparents?! Haha!)
